War on Culture could be a nu-BAD song. As could Caesar's Palace or Disunited Kingdom. But I don't think I'd want that kind of crossover between the two groups.

Rush and Globe era BAD is best forgotten about, or kept for Aussie/ Yank student ears.

I think that there's a lot of Carbon Silicon that could be performed by BAD (with Tony guesting?) but I think the idea of mashing up 3 different eras could backfire.

On the other hand the curent line-up of The Alarm has much of their own material but they also play MIke Peter's back catalogue along with tracks by the original line-up and it works quite well.

The current line-up does feature Steve Grantley from Generation X & Gene Loves Gezebel and Craig Adams from The Sisters Of Mercy & The Mission.

While the latter musicians are happy to play "3 eras of The Alarm" and I was a big fan of Gen X and SoM, I can't see myself being impressed if they tried to add tracks from these bands into the repertoir. With that said, they are all seasoned musicians who often do covers of tracks by The Clash with style!

I think playing anything other than original BAD material is not going to happen, why would they? Don Letts is not going to have anything to do with something written by Tony James.BAD aren't going to be play any Dreadzone tracks, it will I'm sure be "classic" BAD consisting of mainly first two albums.

I did say I didn't want it to happen. I was just suggesting some C/S material was up to strength and suitable in style. Tony can't be BAD, though: he lives in Somerset and votes Tory.

I think I can call which songs they will do from the first three albums. But am finding Megatop Phoenix difficult to call. I'm hoping for Union, Jack and Dragon Town.

There is perhaps more to being a great band than having a load of great songs? And some of those songs aren't really up there amongst the best, in any case.

I think Steve would be surprised to hear he's in Gen X and Gene Loves Gezebel Jon.....you must have meant guitarist James Steveson who is also in Chelsea and Glen Matlocks Philistines............Steve of course plays for Stiff Little Fingers..but no longer for the Alarm..Smiley former Mescalero now occupies the stool....

I stand correct. I mixed my Steve with my Stevenson.
Are you sure Mr. Grantley has moved on?
I thought Smiley was merely covering for a while.
Much like the situation with Carbon Silicon, band members are often juggling multiple projects.
